Cristina Acevedo

I was born in Zacatecas, México a place that is known for deposits of silver and other minerals, and it’s beautiful Colonial Architecture, if you ever visit this place, you will love it.

This is where I grew up surrounded by my family, where I studied and I earned my bachelor’s degree, Licentiate in Secondary Education, with a Specialization in Geography.

When I finished university, I started to work as a teacher in Zacatecas, and after 2 years of working, I met my husband.

My journey was just taking off…

In 2014, I moved to the USA permanently, and my first job was in a school district helping teachers and parents to communicate, translating Spanish to English/English to Spanish.

At that time, I realized that learning another language was very essential in the USA, and the entire world, and thinking about the 21 countries that speak Spanish, meaning that Spanish is important around the world, and why not?, is my native language, it is a romantic language, you can make poetry with it.

Through my journey in the US, I could see the diversity of cultures, and languages, it made me realize that learning another language is eye opening, and gives opportunities for everyone in every place in the world.

After that, I worked in a spanish immersion private school, teaching Spanish to kids, adults, groups, I was the lead teacher of the school. Then I decided to work in an immersion public school in kindergarten, that made me see the easy way for kids to learn Spanish, and the easy pronunciation techniques, the exposure to the daily spanish language, and their easy ways to identify their native language from the Spanish language.

For me learning and being prepared is very essential, and I recently took a University course, Specialized Education for teaching Spanish as a foreign language from the European University Miguel de Cervantes/ELE international.

Now…

I started my new journey, my new life cycle with Pinedo Spanish. I have learned that if you know something. or you are good at something, sharing knowledge is the way.

I understand that every person learns in a different way, and every person has their different reasons, motivations, and I want to give you the opportunity to reach your goal, your dream, or your own growth, I want to give you the proud feeling of being able to understand the culture and people that speak Spanish, the happiness of when you see your kids telling you that they have learned new things in Spanish.

Things that I like.

I am a person who loves my own culture, and always try to represent it through my cooking style, one or two times per week in my house. I like to ride my bike, do hikes, visit new places, camping, ice skating and street skating, I also like to be at home, watching movies, new series, in company of my husband, my little dog Orson, and my lovely cat Tommy.

Orson is a sweet little Yorkie, small and is easy traveling with him, and Tommy, my playful cat that we rescued when he was little, I love my family, I love nature, and I love and enjoy teaching Spanish.
